As part of the work package 5: Occupational Safety and Health of the HumEnHealth project, a GUIDELINE FOR RISK ASSESSMENT OF PREGNANT WORKERS’ WORKPLACES (authors: Tea Samardžić, Roko Žaja, Željka Babić, Jelena Macan) has been developed, which can be downloaded via the following link:

According to Articles 24 and 25 of the Maternity and Parental Benefits Act (OG 152/2022, 34/2025), the risk assessment of pregnant workers’ workplaces is carried out by the competent occupational health physicians (OHPs). The purpose of this guideline is to harmonize the approach of OHPs in assessing the risk of pregnant workers’ workplaces by applying risk acceptability criteria with regard to exposure to reprotoxic chemicals, biological hazards and physical exertion. The guideline was developed based on legal and medical literature, and opinions of OHPs – which were collected during the workshop of the expert meeting of the Croatian Society for Occupational Medicine (March 29, 2025, Vodice).
