12th International Symposium on Flame Retardants (BFR 2026)  

From 15 to 19 September 2026, the international scientific conference 12th International Symposium on Flame Retardants – BFR 2026 was held in Riva del Garda, Italy (https://www.dioxin2026.org/). As part of the first joint organization of the two international scientific conferences, Dioxin and BFR, the three-day joint scientific programme featured 101 oral presentations, including three plenary lectures, as well as more than 250 poster presentations. The conference brought together numerous scientists and experts from around the world, including leading international researchers in the field of persistent organic pollutants. The scientific programme covered a broad range of topics related to flame retardants and other related environmental contaminants, including analytical methods and monitoring, occurrence and sources, environmental fate, human exposure and biomonitoring, toxicity, risk assessment, and regulatory aspects.

Dr. sc. Marija Dvoršćak participated in the international conference with a poster presentation entitled Occurrence of polybrominated diphenyl ethers in fish from Croatia (authors: M. Dvoršćak, M. Biošić, S. Herceg Romanić, K. Jagić Nemčić, G. Jakšić, D. Klinčić).
