Research that Captivates Public Interest

The intriguing results of the scientific work titled “Specific Biomass Burning Tracers in Air Pollution in Zagreb, Croatia” by authors Suzana Sopčić, Gordana Pehnec, and Ivan Bešlić have attracted media attention, which in turn has informed the public about the latest findings in the field of air pollution monitoring. The research provides and interprets the first data on specific air pollutants originating from biomass burning smoke, conducted in Zagreb as part of the EnvironPollutHealth project. It has been published in the August 2024 issue of the international journal “Atmospheric Pollution Research.”

For those who wish to continue enjoying clean air, we recommend reading the paper on the Science direct web page or at least the review available on the Zagreb.info portal in the Eco section.
